Marlene Skog, B.A. Dance, M.F.A. Theatre Arts-Dance University of Arizona. As a native New Yorker and free-lance artist taught, choreographed and performed in the New York City area collaborating with artists in various dance genres, performing at Alice Tully Hall and other venues. Skog ventured abroad for a fourteen-year residency in Sweden as performer, teacher and choreographer, returning home with various cultural prizes awarded for high artistic achievement and educational standard.

Ms. Skog directed and choreographed for Marlene Skog Ballet, a diverse company including dancers from Russia, South Korea, Australia, Finland and Sweden. In 1990, Birgit Cullberg joined Marlene in concert cited as "dance event of the year". Skog was commissioned to choreograph for many official cultural events including the International Arts Festival in Norway, the Scandinavian Cultural Conference at Uppsala's Palace, Uppsala's historical Pumphouse Museum and on-site historical theatre. She was guest choreographer and performer at the International Women's Convention at Uppsala University and introduced on national Swedish television.

Ms. Skog lived in Uppsala Sweden and founded Uppsala Dansakademi, which after five years became the center for dance in Uppsala capping 1000 students. She developed curriculum for professional dance studies and implemented that program with support of the Swedish State and approval by the Swedish Professional Dance Board. The school has become an establishment for dance arts today in Sweden, continuing a legacy.

At The University of Arizona, Ms. Skog received the highest award for Creative Achievement, became the first recipient of the prestigious Green Valley Concert Association Fellowship Award. She had work chosen for performance at the King's Palace in Edinburgh Scotland, served on distinguished academic committees, presented scholarly research at the National Dance Education Organization/CORD conference. She has also received the TRIO Award for Excellence at UW Madison.

Skog served as rehearsal director for Dan Wagoner's "PLOD", performed on the main stage at the Overture Center in collaboration with conductor David Becker and the UW Orchestra. In Madison, her works have been performed at Dance Program Faculty Concerts, the Overture Rotunda and with the UW School of Music Chamber Orchestra. Presently, Ms. Skog is Assistant Faculty Associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, teaching ballet, repertory, composition and dance survey.
